BVB Draft Recap

As the calendar turns to April and the weather starts to warm up, some of the worlds best are preparing for the greatest golf tournament in the world.  We are talking of course of the Spooner Ryder Cup!  The draft took place this week and who better to break down the action than the voice of the Spooner RC, BVB.  As this is the 9th or 10th one of these events, many of us have grown and changed.  Fear not my friends, I continue to keep my unbiased bi-partisan opinions, that give me true journalistic integrity that all the fans of the tournament are craving for.

There were really two themes I felt that prevailed throughout the draft.  The first one, was the striving for continued excellence that Diaper Tycoon and Captain Blake Gabriel was building towards.  In an exclusive interview after the draft, Blake told me, "My approach was to recapture the past success and dominance over Zach's teams.  Our motto is  Make the Affliction Dragons Great Again."

The second theme that stood out was the continued dirty tricks and whining by Professional Human Trafficker and Captain "Lyin Zach" Lehmann.  It all started at the beginning of the draft.  As usual Lyin' Zach was posturing himself as a lower level player to get an unfair advantage in the draft.  Every year we get the same old "I have been playing like shit", "I forgot how to golf over the winter", "what's a putter," quotes.   Blake, showing the characteristics of a true leader, took a hard stance and wouldn't be bullied around.  "We have been making horrible trade deals for year with Lyin' Zach, its been crippling our team and our country!"  Lyin' Zach is also suspected of locking out the press during this years draft.  Numerous Spooner RC journalists have filed complaints that their press passes were revoked as the tried to enter the draft room.  Zach has been unavailable for comment since the draft took place.

Things kicked off with Zach picking John Cuskey.  Obvious pick for Lyin' Zach as the legal representation will be required as he is facing numerous litigation and lawsuits from Captain Blake over numerous grievances and war crimes by the leader of the Red Army.  Blake picked himself first, and provided this blast of truth "My whole life is about winning. I don't lose often. I almost never lose."

There were not a ton of surprises so I have decided to provide rapid fire hot takes on a few of the rounds:

2nd round- Z- Malloy   B- Benny
Kick in the pants for Benny as he wasn't the #1 pick for the first time in years.  A definite show of the iron fist from Fuhrer Zach, punishing him for not showing up for his Mother Squad last year.

4th round- Z- Nate L  B- Heim
Thought this may be the year of a brotherly breakup following swirling rumors of a power struggle on the Red Army.  Nate has been recruiting members from the Duluth territory in recent years and this could be a story to watch in the future.

6th round- Z- Gauer L  B- Colin Quinn
Quick weekend update.  The Red Army is in trouble.

7th round- Z- Hawk  B- Bwandon Nowak
Former running mate of Lyin' Zach, "Little Brandon" found success with team Blake last year.  We will see if that trend continues.

8th round- Z- Top Dawg B- Mivey
Large campaign donations landed Top Dawg back on Team Zach.  Curious to hear what new gear he will show up with.  Rumors have been swirling that he recently acquired a divot replacement tool made out of a dinosaur egg.  This should definitely help him intimidate his competition.

9th round- Z- Korbel  B- Burnham
More of a complaint here then anything.  I heard that Mr. Korbel recently got hitched.  As someone who is best friends with him 1.5 days a year, I was a little disappointed I didn't make the bachelor party cut.

12th round- Z- Big E  B- Schyorer
The Joseph Goebbels of Lyin' Zach's Red Army, Big E is a steal in the 12th round.  Dude is undefeated in approximately his last 150 RC matches.

After hours and hours of watching tape of all of the participants golf game, it looks like another strong draft performance by Blake.  The only risk is the high BAC of his team, but I look at as strength more than a weakness.  The blue squad of hope and prosperity, is blessed with high tolerances (except Jesse), which should get them through the day.  I see this wrapping up early. Captain Blake agrees with my assessment and I will leave you with his initial thoughts following the draft, "Team Zach is filled with Losers.  We are filled with Winners.  We are going to drink out of the cup all night long, and Team Zach is going to pay for all our drinks!  ALL OF THEM!"
